After the initial preview, I was intrigued by the relationship between Jonah and Max. Their witty banter hooked me in, and made me excited to read more. After the wild ride that was 2020, I was interested in a cute, positive story that would highlight the adaptability and flexibility that we all had to experience throughout the past nearly two years. Finding unique ways to connect and communicate was a part of this story that I could relate to and enjoyed.

However, as many others have said, the COVID storyline hit a little too hard and was a little too much. I felt as though we all lived it and get the point, however things were a bit drawn out and dramatic when it came to the precaution details. While also relatable, this did not allow for the escape and silver lining that I was hoping for. Rather, the continued attention to the isolation was distracting from the actual story line.

Overall, it was a cute story of a unique connection two people had to make during challenging times. It was a quick read, just a little heavy on the COVID stuff.
