As soon as I read the excerpt I knew that I had to read this book. Although it was a little different than I expected I thoroughly enjoyed this book. We meet our two MC’s, Max and Jonah, as they fight over toilet paper. It’s a really cute scene and their banter was the reason I was sold on this book. The authors do a great job of giving both characters their own distinct voice and revealing a chemistry between the two that is undeniable.

As the story moves forward, we learn more about both characters and what exactly draws them to one another. We also see what each of them is battling behind all the cute messages. Both characters felt realistic and well fleshed out. Side characters were also unique, fun and supported the main story and the characters very well. Issues of loss and anxiety were more difficult to digest, but were handled quite well in the story. Even though the story didn’t end up quite how I expected it to turn out, the hopeful ending was sweet and felt very realistic and left me satisfied. I would definitely read anything both of these authors write as the writing was funny and thoughtful. I would definitely recommend this story to everyone as it was a great read but caution everyone that heavier themes occur in this story. Thank you to the Publisher and Bookish First for the opportunity to read such a wonderful story.
