At first I was a bit skeptical about a romance that takes place during the pandemic, a traumatic event that happened so recently I wasn't sure I wanted to read about it. But ... by the second page, I knew this was a book I wanted more of.
The characters are so well-written, and have distinct voices. Both Max and Jonah are hilarious in their own ways, and I loved how the interactions between them felt natural and realistic. The way that they connected and got to know each other was done so beautifully, but it also touches on some more serious issues. Each of the MCs have some major things going on - parental issues, mental health, a family member with chronic illness, and financial concerns.
After reading the first look, I absolutely wanted more and already know that I have to get my mitts on a copy of this book. I need to find out what happens!
