If I’m being honest, I normally don’t pick romance novels for a a free-time read. In fact, I’ve never chosen one at all. Therefore “Heiress for Hire” was a first for me.
What drew me to the novel was that Minerva Hepplewhite decided to open her own business during a time period in a place where she had as many rights as a common house lamp. She was surrounded by mystery, from the death of her husband to the reason behind her inheritance from the Duke of Hollinburgh. Of course, her relationship with the seductive Chase Radnor was alluring, as any relationship in a romance novel should be. However, what kept me reading wasn’t the development of their relationship, but the mystery the two worked to solve.
