I may have told myself that the last thing I need to do is start a new historical romance series but as soon as I saw the lovely cover and read the first few pages of this book, I knew resistance was futile. The entire scene after Minerva hits Chase over the head had me chuckling and needing to find out what happened next. I loved Minerva from the very start. She is a strong and utterly competent heroine who takes the lead in looking after those she cares for. I wanted her to find everything that she wanted. I did not love that so much of this book was spent on a central mystery that I did not especially care about and then was never even solved. I will still read the next book in the series, but more because I am curious about the hero and his business than because of needing to find out what happened to his uncle.
