First of all, right off the bat I found the cover of this memoir absolutely perfect. It's gorgeous. It gave off a vibe all on its own, and the rest of the book just fit with it so perfectly.
I love a good memoir. In fact, even as a prolific reader of all types of works, memoirs are my go-to genre. This memoir is the kind that I choose over and over again. One that is full of life and can transport the reader to a time and place. It is an experience all on its own, which is precisely what any smart reader wants out of a book.
Having never visited New York, and really not even being familiar with this part of the world or culture, I was so ultimately intrigued by experiences this author shared. It was so mesmerizing and captivating, and left me turning page after page for hours on end. A truly engrossing memoir that will leave the reader feeling like he/she was right there living this tale along with the author.
