When I first read the blurb for this book, I thought that it would be a pass for me. I don’t know the first thing about New York or the theater scene. Curiosity won out though, and I decided to read the preview. I am glad I did! This is like a sneak peek into a world I never even imagined. I always thought that the opera world would be all gilt & glitter, but the author grew up with a front row seat in a world that is also full of grit & grime. I am hoping for the opportunity to read the rest!
