I loved this book. I immediately was transported to Alba and wrapped up in Cam's and Willow's stories.

Cam, the "bad" brother returns to his hometown after years away after he receives a plea for help from his ailing father. He's forced to confront his "perfect" brother over what's best for their father. He's forced to face the judgement and animosity of nearly everyone in town while he tries to do the right thing. He also has to face down the one person he swore he'd never see again. Most of all, though, he has to confront his past, his regrets, and his guilt before he can even think about moving on.

Willow, the "tragic" figure who lost the love of her life as a teenager had moved home after college because she loves her home town and family. The ghosts of her past, though, are thick in Alba and she seems to be the only one who has moved on and is struggling to build a future for herself while dragging around everyone else's emotions and opinions.

Their paths cross in an unexpected way - at gunpoint, and their shared pasts and need to move beyond other people's opinions drive them forward as they try to help the town, themselves, and Cam's father.

I felt Cam's pain and anger just as much as I felt his love and goodness. I was cheering both of them on as they started to shed their past and acknowledge their truths, while breaking down some of the townspeople's prejudices and misconceptions.

All in all, a very enjoyable read.
