I honestly had a hard time getting into this book from the very beginning. The introduction was so long and it felt like it was really all over the place. I feel like an introduction should be brief and give a little back story if there is one and this was scattered and I got bored fast. This was how I felt about a lot of the writing. It didn’t stay focused and the first chapter drug on for so long. I also thought this was going to be more about the dogs than it was. I think I was expecting more of a Marley and Me type story than what this was. I admire the bravery of the author in telling her story and sharing all of the things she has gone through living as a transgender woman. I think it could have been two separate stories or needed to be more focused on one or the other.
