So, we all know why I was interested in this book originally, right? Obviously it was because of the dog on the cover. I love anything and all things dogs so that hooked me from the very beginning! I went in having read the summary, but I didn't expect to get the story I did. This was an amazing coming of age story - I loved how the author incorporated dogs and dog companionship into the different stories of their lives. I was able to relate to the story even though I don't have direct experience in this exact situation in my life/past. My only issue with this book is that the writing didn't really fully pull together for me until the end of book. Overall, I did enjoy this read and will definitely be reading more from this author in the future!
