This excerpt was beautiful. The author conveyed emotions and feelings in such a strong and relatable way, it was almost like reading my own diary. It’s also a bonus that she is writing about her experience in a minority group that is currently fighting for full rights, because I think a book like this is perfect to help humanize and show similarities to people (potential readers) who may be working on their tolerance or understanding.
