Bone fide animal lover that I am, the cover for GOOD BOY caught my attention right away. I thought I knew what to expect from an author named Jennifer: a woman's analysis of her life as represented by the different dogs she had owned. Glancing over the titles for the book's sections, it was obvious that the titles were the various dogs' names. Still, I didn't make stop to question a typically female name such as "Lucy" and the book's title: Good BOY (my emphasis added. Since I was not familiar with the previous writing of Jennifer Finney Boylan, I was surprised to learn ... spoiler alert...there was an added twist to this first-person narrator: the narrator is trans. I look forward to reading the rest and hope to be one of the lucky recipients of an ARC.
