Good Boy was an interesting approach to a memoir, through the dogs that the author had from childhood through the present time. The passage of time is often marked by events that have shaped thoughts and have given impressions that linger, but I have not read a book that uses the love of pets as place markers. I was surprised to like Good Boy, as I am not a dog lover and the cover made me prejudge the involvement that they would have in the book. It is more of the story of a life, of transformation, and of the unconditional love that the author has had for many dogs throughout the years.
