I found this to be very relatable because I was homeschooled and my dad served in the Navy. And while he is still alive today, it is still something I feared. The protagonist in this novel is so realistic that it seems more like a non fiction story rather than fiction.
I would easily recommend this book because it discusses how we might not seem like we come from much, however, other people can have faith in us to be more than what we assume we will become.
This looks like a great YA Contemporary novel, and I look forward to when the full novel is released so I can finish it and give a full review on what seems to be a very powerful work of modern day literature in America today.
