I would call this YA novel a simple story that didn't really go anywhere, at least for me. There wasn't anything there for me to sink my teeth into or even care about the characters.

Hudson is about to enter his senior year of high school as the story opens. He convinces his mother to let him be home schooled, taking only 2 classes at the school. He also decides to start a few businesses, such as dog walking and one where he is on call for less than emergency situations, but he hasn't fleshed them out ahead of time. He seems to make it up as he goes.

I did not find any of it plausible in the least and could not relate to any of the characters such as girls at school, a sort of friend who annoyed him by calling him Hud-man, his customers who needed help, the girl playing basketball, the absent mother... you get the idea?

Call it a nice, simple story if you'd like, but it was not worth my time to finish it.
