This was a fun contemporary fiction tale for young adults. Hudson Wheeler, the protagonist, was a big part of the book's charm for me. Hudson is a senior in high school, and this was written in his first person. I believe his voice was what made this story work because it was genuine and likeable.

Throughout the novel, Hudson is confronted with a number of circumstances that force him to develop as an individual. There was never a moment when it felt forced or preachy, though. Hudson is a nice guy who is trying to find out what he wants to do with his life. He navigates romantic relationships and tries to figure out if his crush is the right person for him.

He starts two businesses and meets a WWII veteran through them, who becomes a crucial figure in Hudson's life. The various characters and plot points are intertwined in an easy-to-follow format.
