I just don't really think the world needs more 'analyses of male adolescence'. Like, haven't we been there, done that enough for the past 10,000 years? He decides to homeschool himself for his senior year because he was jealous that his best friend had a girlfriend. He wants to lose his virginity before the end of senior year, but thinks that literally any girl will do, but is too insecure to go after any that he really likes so just tries to get with the first girl who will accept him, which is just sad. This book is supposed to be about grief as well but literally nothing happens revolving around grief. The only grief I experienced was my own as I had to read about this character. Overall this story was just not for me.
