Reading my first Kathryn Berla's book, Going places tells us about Hudson Wheeler, a seventeen-year-old smart teenager who lost his father at young age, so he feels the weight of his mother and is very close to her. He had the potencial to "go places" and was homeschooling in his Senior Year. Like others of his age, he seeks growth in business, a good romance and some great friendship.

The first 2/3 parts of the book is quite slow in delivering his life's events, but then the story just pull together and the end was just compelling.

It is interesting to read a novel based on a male-lead view: the storyline is about struggles, homeschooling process, grief and pursuing your dreams. The plot was well developed and the characters as well.
