I like the feel of this book already. The author takes time to establish the setting and mindset of the narrator right from the start without the details being an exposition dump, and I like that. The dialogue is engaging (it reminds me of the Percy Jackson series), the characters seem level-headed, and I feel like there's more depth to come from the tone and atmosphere of this book: it has a very self-aware and reflective vibe, so I'm really quite optimistic about it.
