The array of characters seems both predictable and quirky, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I like a good cast of quirky characters. The premise seems solid enough. There is a danger that important issues might be glossed over instead of dealt with, as sometimes happens in the "predictable and quirky" books, but it's not a given. I really like the potential twists his two businesses could present.
