It's like that one scene in Finding Nemo, for 99% of the book

Goddess in the Machine by Lora Beth Johnson is YA sci-fy novels that follows the story of Andra after she is cryogenically frozen after she and her family are set to move to a faraway planet. There's only one problem though, she's waken up too early and is supposedly a goddess.

Upon waking up, Andra is greeted by a super cute "alien" boy named Zhade, who has sketchy intentions and often sounds outdated. Much like the rest of the culture developed by Johnson. Literally reading this book, made me feel like Marlin in that one scene in Finding Nemo, where he's talking to Crush and Squirt and has literally no idea what's going on.

Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this book with it's fantastic worldbuilding and unique characterization. I am impatiently waiting for book two, Devil in the Device. If you need me, I shall be waiting at my mailbox until July.
