I would like to start off with that I really like Marissa Meyers books. I’ve had some minor issues with them in the past but still enjoy the stories over all. My main issue with this book was it felt like the mythology was thrown into the book last minute and was tried to fit around the book. I’m sure it wasn’t but I don’t think it fit the story necessarily at that moment. I think if maybe they pushed back the release date to workshop it more it would have been much more smooth. I think the characters were great! I don’t think this book was bad by any means but it just felt like a “money grab” ughh I hate saying that because I don’t feel like that’s the right terminology. I really love the town that the castle was in, it had really great people and stories and I feel like it was the best part of the whole book. I would love to have more stories in that world versus a second book.
