Marissa Meyer does it again!
IT ENDED ON A CLIFFHANGER! Not cool! But also now we know that there's going to be another book coming up next November, so maybe a little bit cool? But I want to knoooooow what happens next. . . .
Either way, cliffhangers aside, Marissa Meyer definitely met my (fairly lofty) expectations with this awesome new series (I hope?). Full of exciting world-building (ghosts! Ghouls! Kings! Magic! Creatures with names that are randomly taken from Yiddish and elderly horses with names that are, too - hello, Zelig!), cool fantasy settings (forests and castles and little villages!), awesome characters (bonus points because of the awesome cast of children!), dazzling (if somewhat predictable) romances. . . this is a fairy tale retelling as awesome as I have grown to expect from Marissa Meyer. Well worth the (unfortunately lengthy) wait.
