This was so atmospheric and spooky, and I loved it! I have a soft spot for retellings, but I didn’t love Heartless so I was a little worried about trying this one. Luckily, it did not disappoint. I can’t wait for the next one, I have so many theories about where it’s going 😂 There were so many high excitement moments in this, I stayed pulled in the entire time. I especially loved the children, and Serilda’s stories, I kept trying to figure out if she was creating truth but no one believed or if she was tapping into truth to get her stories - like did she inherently know truth, or did she speak things into truth? The romance was a little underdeveloped, and is actually part of one of my hopes for the second book is that it goes another way entirely. Definitely recommend this one, for fans of dark retellings, evil Fae princes, stories within stories, and lots of magic!
