Gilded is another masterpiece by the booktok sensation- Marissa Meyer. From what I've heard, this book is the first one in a series and I cannot wait ah!
Serilda is an amazing protagonist and I love how this is a Rumpelstiltskin retelling. Marissa Meyer's fairytale retelling are my absolute favourite, I loved her Cress and Cinder especially that she's previously done. But this book was a unique retelling that's different compared to the others.
Gilded is a lot darker than her previous retellings and it's more intuned with the Grimm Brother fairytale collections. Don't get me wrong I love Dark Fairytales.
The only thing I didn't really like was the romance in this, they didn't have that good a chemistry and personally I remember Rumpelstiltskin as a book that didn't have any romance because it was a lonely man locked in a dungeon. Just me?
Nevertheless, I feel like this was worth the read. In Marissa Meyer we trust!
