Marissa Meyer has been one of my favorite authors since I read her books back when they were first published. She's known for her amazing retellings of fairytales in a new futuristic way, and this book follows suit. While her Lunar Chronicle series dealt with retellings of the princess and heroes of stories, this book takes a different turn and uses some of the lesser-known characters and uses this as an opportunity to make them the leading character this time instead of hiding in the background.
Lastly, about this cover, it's not the best one of her covers I've seen. Her book covers for the Renegades series were absolutely breathtaking, and this cover is just kind of there and doesn't give you any detail about what the story is about.
Overall, Meyer is simply a fantastic writer and I cannot wait to see what beautiful stories and retellings she delivers next.
