See, I loved the Lunar Chronicles and didn't think Marissa Meyer's work could get any better. This might be a hot take, but I was proved wrong by Gilded. Now, I’ve read work by Marissa Meyer before, but let me tell you, this Rumplestiltskin retelling was dark and gorgeous and utterly amazing. One of her longer works, but I could not put it down. What I didn’t know was it wasn’t a standalone, so that cliffhanger was killer, but incredibly done. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, completely captivated by this incredible, incredible storytelling. And the heavy Scandinavian influence?? *Chef’s kiss* Cannot wait until the fall for the sequel! And I mean that. I will be missing these characters dearly until then, when I'm absolutely sure Marissa Meyer will not miss. Miss Ma'am never disappoints, and I'm so grateful for what she brings to readers.
