Once again, I am utterly mesmerized by Marissa Meyer's creativity and her writing style. Putting aside the fact that I'm a huge Marissa Meyer fan, I didn't need that much convincing to check it out. A spin on the Rumpelstiltskin story? (yes, spinning, pun intended) Yes please.
It hooked me on the first few pages, and 75 pages did not nearly satisfy me. Serilda is a very interesting character, and I like that we're given the message that lying and 'spinning' tales (I can't help myself) will never have a good outcome. I also enjoyed the concept of the hunt led by the Erlking.
I'm dying to find out how the relationship between Serilda and Gild will play out and can't wait to get my hands on this gold (Ok last pun). The cover is also utterly beautiful and will definitely reel anyone in.
