It was ok
I think my biggest issue with this book is that it's the 17th? 18th? book in a series that I have never read from before. Because of this I felt a little lost and disconnected from the characters. There's also a lot of historical battles which is not something that usually holds my interest (in movies and books).
I think one of the strong aspects of this story is the setting. 1700's India is not a setting you see everyday and that was what originally drew my interest in book. This also covers the French-Indian War which is another time period that isn't seen often in historical fiction. It feels like 90% of the historical fiction I come across is set during World War II so this book definitely stands out because of that.
With all of this said, I think that there are a lot of people who will like this book but it wasn't quite for me.
