Not your average typical historical novel. It’s fast paced and encompasses adventure on 3 continents, with a seamless writing style that flows easily. Vivid descriptions of the landscapes and people enhance the experience.Following the two main characters Connie and Theo Courtney is exciting as they go their separate ways( through no fault of their own) and encounter new lives. Life threatening dangers and a lot of tough and tumble action takes place that leaves you on the edge. I also found out the meaning of the title which was definitely not what I thought it was going to be.Eventually they are reunited quite unexpectedly which leads up to an ending that I never saw coming. Definitely recommend
