The elephant on the cover initially drew my eye but I'm kind of confused on how the cover relates to the synopsis other than the Indian setting. I have never heard of this author and I'm surprised after seeing how many books he's published. The synopsis definitely hooked me with the 18th century time period and the setting of India and France.
