This just really isn't my type of book. I typically struggle with books that are set so far back in history... and then add war to it... and family struggles. I just get bored with these books. The title makes me curious, but the synopsis just leaves me at a point where I don't want to read it. I'm not a fan of the cover - it's not immediately obvious to me what an elephant with a crown has to do with the story. I hope others enjoy the book, because I won't be reading it.
