After reading the first 41 pages as a sneak peak, a few things stand out.. The style is the familiar fantasy world-building, with way too much information thrown in too fast at the beginning.. The source of magic and mythical being are mentioned but not explained..
I know this is to "increase suspense", but I don't care about the magic.. The magic is to move the plot along, not be the center of attention..this style of fantasy is common enough, and it might be cliche, but it can be done well.. Didn't see enough of the story to find out.
Several characters introduced rapidly, but that was well done; I'm interested in all the characters and want to read more to find out what happens to them.
