I’m not hard to pease when it comes to YA novels. Going into this book, I wasn’t sure what I expected, but I loved it. The characters, the plot, the suspense, the magic system- everything about it kept me on my toes, and made me really happy. I cried throughout the book, tears of sadness and joy, laughed out loud more times than I can count, and I remember getting so angry I started to shake. It evokes emotion in me so strong- I didn’t know books could do that to me. By the end, I felt like throwing the book across the room, and hugging it tight. I loved everything about this book, but the writing was what really did it for me. I appreciate good writing, and I even look up to it, and this book had phenomenal writing. It blew my mind, and made me really happy, and appreciate writing again. It made me want to start writing again. Overall, this book is a 5:5.
