I was first drawn to this book by the style of the cover. Fantasy is my favorite genre and the colors in the cover spoke of blood and glory and royalty to me. And while the description isn't something I'd normally read it sounded like a nice change of pace. I'm always looking for something new and different to read so that I don't get into a slump. I was instantly drawn in by the opening scene and want to know what's going to happen. The people referred to were confusing at first but it cleared up as I read further.
This book doesn't appear to be the best writing I've ever read but also not the worst. I am prepared to be surprised and hooked. This story promises to be exciting, with a few twists along the way.
