I wasn't sure what I was going to get from this book based on the short preview I read. What I got was a really interesting way of building a world from three different time periods and from the view of three different people.
I really liked how the author laid out the scene where everything went wrong and the world changed in the story as the opening of the book. He then went back a few years and started to lay out how things got to the opening scene, and then went forward over a thousand years to see how that opening scene played out later. That was a really cool and interesting way to start a book and introduce you to different characters as well as tell how things happened in an off hand way, since those plot details were given as part of the history of the book's world.
I love that this book has a couple strong female leads who come across as very likable and someone you are rooting for. The world seems really strong and the magic system sounds really interesting.
I'm looking forward to reading more of this book.
