This was such an incredible fast-paced adventure!
I've seen a lot of mixed reviews since this book came out, so I was a bit skeptical of what to really expect. That being said, I'm glad I decided to pick it up because it was truly fantastic. The story is told from the POV of two women from different time periods, living lives that are somehow connected to one another. I really like how Legrand handled this dual perspective, as both characters actually felt very distinct from one another and I enjoyed them equally.
The world-building and magic system were also really well done and I found them really interesting. I found that I could actually follow along with it and understand the magic that Legrand was attempting to build. The plot is fast-paced, but not too much of a break-neck speed and I found Legrand's writing style very readable as well. I really loved this book and highly recommend it! I can't wait to read Kingsbane!
