It is prophesized that one day, the Gate will fall and angels will be free to begin their reign of terror over the earth once again. It is also foretold that when this happens, two queens will rise: a Blood Queen and a Sun Queen. Rielle and Eliana are two extraordinary women separated by centuries who have to prove themselves to be the benevolent Sun Queen.
This was a little hard to get into at first, but as soon as Rielle started the trials, I was sold. I really grew to love both girls, so it is difficult to have to imagine one or the other being the Blood Queen. I do not understand one major aspect of the story that was revealed at the end that covered how Eliana came to be where she is, so I hope that will be further explained in the next book. I will definitely be continuing with this series because I just loved both girls and I can’t wait to see how their stories intertwine further.
