For me, this was not a book. I don't know if there was anything "wrong" with it other than the main fact, I could not connect with any of the characters. For me, it was mainly Eliana or maybe it was the structure of the plot with the time apart from the characters. The entire time I struggled to buy into the world building of it all. That, and there were a lot of pet peeves I personally had with Eliana. Not that she was a bad character, just a few traits that instantly annoy me. So that's me. You might like her. That's why I've sat waiting to write a review for awhile. Rielle though. I did want to love her. Her story struck me as more interesting, but also at the same time, she did not leap off the page to engage me. I might try to continue reading the series, and I'm glad to have this cover on my book shelf because what a great cover.
