Medieval fantasy with fierce women caught in a political battle

There have been many fantasys with strong male characters and meek women who support them. This is not one of those books. Reille is tough and she isn't going to let anyone mess with the people she loves. It also helps that she has power she isn't really aware of and it is this power that will be a blessing and a curse. The story jumps ahead to another strong female caught in the same political jumble. These fierce strong women with a brain signal a welcome change in the fantasy novel genre - a storm is coming and you won't want to miss it. This seems to be a strong start in a new trilogy and one I want to continue.
