The opening prologue is terrific. I was immediately captured by the sense of urgency in this opening segment as we are presented with a nail-biting climax right from the start, and I loved the following chapter that starkly contrasted the implication of Rielle being a morally ambiguous queen.
In that, I have a strong feeling that this book will pull at my heartstrings. I love complicated character arcs, and the author presenting Rielle's carefree past relative to her dark future gives me hope that this book will explore gray areas to offer an emotional and compelling journey.
