First the cover is so inviting that you have to pick up this book even if you do not have curly hair! The artwork in the book is perfect for the story and adds so much to the characters. Although this book is for middle school children, it really is a fun read for all teaching us lessons in acceptance of whom we are and the need to be ourselves. Expectations of all of us is something everyone struggles with and trying to do our best and get along when we are bullied or teased is hard at any point of our lives. So This book fits right in with a message of self love and teaches us to see in others what may not be obvious at the time we are going thru certain struggles. I think everyone should read this book to gain an understanding of how it feels to not fit in and be accepted because we are different or don't look like everyone in the room. Pick up this book because you won't be disappointed.
