First of the art style in this comic is amazing and perfectly encapsulates the story. In frizzy we follow a young girl who has been taught her to go to the salon every week even though she hates it. All because her mom always told that straight hair is what makes her beautiful. Noticing these remarks made by almost all adults in her life and other remarks that start to crack the idea that straight hair means you are beautiful. As well as other hypocritical remarks such as “it’s what’s on the inside that matters” while still insisting that hair gives off the wrong idea if it hadn’t been pressed. My favorite character was definitely the auntie. The ending was beautiful truly. I would love to read more graphic novels following some of the other characters like the auntie! Follow Marlene as she goes along on a hair journey! I recommend this to any one but especially any young girl!
