First off, I am loving the cover art. The little girl on the cover looks so sweet and the actual artwork makes the book seem warm and welcoming. I did not realize that the book was a graphic novel format, so that was a very nice Suprise when I read the first look. My daughter has super curly and frizzy/dry hair, and she gets so frustrated about how quickly it knots up and how difficult it is. I would love to have her read this book so she can learn from the little girl Marlene how to love her own hair just as much. This book seems to be very emotional and is relatable for girls that have similar hair issues. It shows realistic family dynamics, and the artwork is really welcoming and warm.
