I thought the cover was cute and the illustration is so much better than what is presented in the narrative. I didn't quite like the eyes of the characters. The rest of the character illustrations were very good, however.
The story so far is somewhat sad in that Marlene gets chastised for being herself and is ridiculed for her hair. It will be interesting to read how Marlene transforms herself and how and if everyone will accept her for what she is.
