This book started out really strong for me. Frank Li a Korean-American boy and Frank Lee an african-american boy, are best friends. They are both excellent students who are studying their SATs and looking forward to college applications. Neither of them has dated much, which for Frank Li has a bit harder time in the dating department tahn most other American kids because of his Korean heritage and his tight knit Korean family, family friends, and their beliefs. When he finally meets a girl he really wants to date he is afraid to introduce her to his family because of their racial beliefs, he and another Korean American girl in his family friends circle is in the same situatuion with a boy shes dating from school, so they decided to "fake date" so they can stay out all night long if they wanted no questions asked. This book started out really strong funny, and raw. That pretty much died out, but overall this book was fun and heartwarming I loved the honesty in discussions regarding racism.
