I knew as soon as I heard about this book that it would be one of my favorite books of 2019. I am extremely happy to say that I was right! Frankly in Love is a masterpiece. It’s honest and real and heartfelt and heartbreaking and modern and classic and just about everything you’d want a book to be. The characters are written so flawlessly, it feels as if I know them, like really know them. Frank and Q’s friendship is what all friendships should aspire to be. Their open and honest conversations about race and privilege and injustice are similar to conversations I’ve had with my own friends, and it’s amazing to see that represented in a YA book! The writing style flows so nicely in the book that it is almost impossible to put the book down. Nicola and David Yoon are officially my favorite author-spouse power duo! I cannot wait to read more of David Yoon in the future!
