At a first glance it seems like Frankly in Love is your run of the mill YA book, but I was pleasantly surprised it was so much more! Frank is a teenager, the son of Korean parents that is trying to find his place in the world. He doesn't feel American, but not quite Korean either. His parents emerge themselves in their culture, while Frank feels like he is in limbo. He falls for an American girl, but feels like he can't tell his parents for fear that she is not Korean. This book made me remember how it was to grow up in California the daughter of immigrants, and also trying to be living in both worlds. This book made me laugh, cry, and brought up feelings I had long forgotten. I will be recommending this book to everyone!
