I have seen this book getting some buzz over on booktube, and then upon seeing Jodi Picoult and Marie Lu blurbing it, I knew it was time to read the preview. A contemporary where the author writes using his own perspective on growing up as the child of immigrant parents in America, complicated family relationships, and tropes like fake dating are all reasons to read this book. It is great that books are getting more representation and still follow the classic loved tropes like fake dating mixed with real struggles readers can relate to. Some of the tropes used are a little overdone, but I appreciate the humor and writing style. It is an entertaining read that can be finished in one quick sitdown
