I absolutely loved this book. Based on the cover you think you're getting a cute, fluffy, YA love story (which you are), but it's actually deep as it addresses heavy topics like cultural identity issues.

Frank is a Korean-American high school senior who begins dating a white girl. Because of his parent's racist tendencies, he hides his relationship and decides to fake-date a childhood friend.

Frank struggles to reconcile his Korean heritage with his American upbringing. He also doesn't know how to deal with his parents old school views (i.e. racism). I related to Frank so hard. I also struggle with my identity because sometimes I don't feel Latina enough. This is something that I'm sure most children of immigrant parents can relate to.

Then there are the characters. Each one is so uniquely wonderful. Frank's friends are the best. They are high-achieving, nerdy, funny, and real. Even his parents are generally good-hearted people.

There is one tiny little thing that I hope gets fixed before publication. *MINOR SPOILER AHEAD* Q, Frank's best friend, doesn't get into his top school, Stanford. He then states that it's the only West Coast school he applied to because he assumed he'd get in. But... he got into Caltech!! Um, I live in SoCal and I've visited that campus plenty of times. It's definitely in the West Coast haha. So, yeah. Hope that little geographical mishap gets fixed!!
